Main Street Project Updates October 4, 2024

Construction Update

Sewer work along Church Street into the intersection of Church and Main will continue.

Restoration of the roadway on lower Church Street between King Street to just south of Main Street will continue
next week.

Permanent line striping and roadway marking on Church St between King and Maple  is scheduled for the end of this week or early next week. This work is weather-dependent.

Temporary waterline work will continue along Main Street between Pine and Church.

Traffic Update

Minor traffic impacts including lane shifts and shoulder closures will occur at the Pine and
Main Street intersection.

The Main and Church intersection is closed.

Church Street from King to Main Street remains closed.

Flagged traffic will be required on Church St. between Maple and King for painting operations.

  Pedestrian traffic will be maintained around work zones. Follow designated pedestrian signage.

Parking Update

Additional public parking is available at the Courthouse Plaza garage

Parking at the Courthouse Plaza Garage (South Winooski Ave. entrance only) continues to be available at the City rate of $1.50/hour and space is still highly available.

City rates are only available on the level that is accessed from the South Winooski Ave. entrance.

Public parking on the surface level (access from Church Street) is available nights/weekends and is managed by Unified Parking Partners and follows
their rate structure.

Some public parking has been restored on the lot located at the corner of Main St. and S. Winooski Ave.

Parking directly in and adjacent to work zones will
be impacted.

There will be no parking on the Flynn (south) side of Main St. between St. Paul Street and S. Winooski Ave.  There will be no parking on the north side of Main St. between St. Paul Street and Pine St.

Limited on-street parking exists on Main Street between St Paul and S Winooski. Please do not park in areas that have meter bags or are coned off.

Please follow signage for access to local businesses and alternate business parking.
