Main Street Project Update, February 26, 2025

Construction Update

Work on underground utilities within the Main/S. Winooski intersection will continue throughout the month of February.

Sewer main construction is progressing east (uphill) from the Main/S. Winooski intersection toward S. Union.

Work continues on the underground stormwater tanks located in front of City Hall Park. Work on the underground stormwater tank located near the Pine and Main intersection has begun.

Water main replacement and temporary water main work will continue through February.

Traffic Update

Which streets are closed?

Main St is closed from Church St. through the S. Winooski Ave intersection.

Main/Church intersection is open to vehicles.

Main St: St. Paul to Church will be reduced to one lane of travel (eastbound) as early as Thursday, 3/6.

Timeframes for closures are subject to change. Updates will be provided as frequently as possible. Your understanding and patience are appreciated.

Parking Update

Where can I park?

On street parking is available except where a meter bag or
‘No Parking’ sign is present.

Available Lots/Garages:

Courthouse Plaza Garage, S. Winooski Ave entrance, city rates ($1.50/hr)

Main/Winooski lot accessed via S .Winooski Ave.
Lower portion only.

On-Street Parking restrictions:

S. Union and College Street

Main St: St Paul – Church: Northern parking lane/
sidewalk closure.

Main St: Pine to St. Paul: Limited on-street parking on the North side of the street.

MAIN STREET PARKING

Main St: Church – S. Winooski: some parking on the western section of the road has been restored.
