Construction Update
Sewer work within the Maple & Church Street intersection has been completed, however the intersection remains a gravel surface. Please lower speeds and proceed with caution when traveling through the intersection.
Sewer work along Church Street between Maple & King Streets
will continue next week.
Work within the Main Street & St. Paul Street intersection
will continue for several weeks.
Work on the retaining wall behind the fire station will continue.
Work within the King Street & Church Street intersection
could begin early next week.
Traffic Update
The intersection of Maple & Church Street has been reopened.
One-way alternating traffic may be required throughout the week next week along Church Street between King and Maple Street.
The intersection of Main Street & St. Paul Street will remain closed for several more weeks.
Parking Update
Parking is now available at Courthouse Plaza at City rates ($1.50 & hour) and opens up an additional 83 spaces of public parking at this location.
The public parking lot at the northeast corner of Main Street and S. Winooski Avenue remains closed in order to complete ravine sewer bypass work. The lot will remain closed for several months – until further notice.
On-Street parking will remain on Main Street between Pine and St. Paul Street. Please note that parking spaces within 100 feet of the construction zone will be restricted.
Parking lots located within any “local traffic only” roadways
will be open and accessible.
Please follow signage for access to local businesses and
alternate business parking.
Nearby Project Alerts
A DPW Water Resources contractor will begin work to replace an old sewer line on Pine between Bank and College beginning Monday, 4 & 15.
This work will protect against unplanned, emergency repairs, fortify downtown infrastructure and add additional capacity to the system. The project will last up to 1 month.
There may be occasional closures, one-way traffic or delays.
Service impacts are not expected.
