Main Street Project Update, April 18, 2025

Construction Update
The intersection of Main/Church on Monday 4/21 while the contractor replaces the water mains and installs sewer services.
The Main/Union intersection will close entirely on 4/21 and will reopen fully as early as 4/25.
The upper portion of Main St: S. Winooski – Union will remain closed for utility work.
Sewer main construction has progressed east (uphill) along Main St. toward S. Union. Work in this intersection will continue.
Work on the underground stormwater tank located near the Pine and Main intersection continues.
Water main replacement and temporary water main work will continue through April.

Pine Street: King Street to Main Street:
Some lane shifts possible. Vehicle access maintained.
King Street/Pine Street:
The intersection of King/Pine will be closed to all traffic weekdays (Monday – Friday) during working hours (7AM – 7PM) and will be reopened each night.
Traffic traveling northbound along Pine Street will be detoured at Maple Street and at Kilburn Street for trucks.

Traffic Update
Which streets are closed?
Main/Union intersection: Fully closed beginning Monday, 4/21 through 4/25.
Main St: starting at the Church Street intersection through S. Winooski is fully closed to vehicle traffic, starting
Monday, 4/21.
Main/Pine intersection: starting as early as 4/28 this intersection is scheduled to close 24/7 to vehicles for approximately 3 weeks. Bike/Ped access will be maintained for at least 3 legs of the intersection.
Timeframes for closures are subject to change. Updates will be provided as frequently as possible.
