Main Street Project Updates July 26, 2024

Construction Update

Water work will start on Main Street Monday morning between Pine Street and S. Champlain Street and will last through the week. Traffic flow will be maintained.

Sewer work along King Street between Church Street and 
S. Winooski Ave. continues.

Sewer work within the intersection of King and Church
Streets continues.

Sewer work is also progressing north along Church Street
toward Main Street.

Traffic Update

The intersection of S. Winooski Ave and King Street will be open with lane restrictions, traffic will be maintained. King Street between S. Winooski Ave. and S. Union Street will be closed for unrelated construction.

A lane shift will be in place on Main Street between Pine Street and S. Champlain Street, both directions of traffic will be maintained.

The intersection of King Street/Church Street remains closed.

King Street is closed between Church St. and S. Winooski Ave.

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained around work zones. Follow designated pedestrian signage.

Parking Update

Additional public parking is available at the Courthouse Plaza garage

Parking at the Courthouse Plaza Garage (South Winooski Ave. entrance only) continues to be available at the City rate of $1.50/hour and space is still highly available.

City rates are only available on the level that is accessed from the South Winooski Ave. entrance.

Public parking on the surface level (access from Church Street) is available nights/weekends and is managed by Unified Parking Partners and follows
their rate structure.

Some public parking has been restored on the lot located at the corner of
Main St. and S. Winooski Ave.

Parking directly in and adjacent to work zones will be impacted.

Please follow signage for access to local businesses and alternate business parking.

Nearby Project Alerts

Church Street brick work will begin in early August. This work will be happen in various locations along Church Street between Bank Street and Main Street.
