Main Street Project Update, March 28, 2025
Construction Update
Work on underground utilities within the Main/S. Winooski intersection is progressing to the east and west sides of the intersection. Traffic flow North and South through the intersection has been restored.
Sewer main construction is progressing east (uphill) along Main St. toward S. Union.
Work is finishing up on the underground stormwater tanks located in front of City Hall Park. Work on the underground stormwater tank located near the Pine and Main intersection continues.
Water main replacement and temporary water main work will continue through March.

Which streets are closed?
Main/S. Winooski: Open to North-South traffic only
Main/S. Union: northbound S. Union Street to eastbound
Main St. only
Main St: Church St. to S. Winooski and S. Union to S. Winooski is closed to through traffic.
Main St/Church intersection is partially closed. Parking noted below is still available via Church St approach.
Timeframes for closures are subject to change. Updates will be provided as frequently as possible.

Where can I park?
On street parking is available except where a meter bag or
‘No Parking’ sign is present.
Available Lots/Garages:
Courthouse Plaza Garage, S. Winooski Ave entrance, city rates ($1.50/hr)
Main/S. Winooski lot: Accessed via S. Winooski Ave. Lower portion only.
On-Street Parking restrictions:
S. Union and College St.
Main: St. Paul-Church
Main St: Pine-St. Paul: Limited on-street parking,
North side of the street
Main: East of Church St – East of Union
