Main Street Project Update, May 2, 2025
Construction Update
The intersection of Main/Church is now closed while the contractor replaces the water mains and installs sewer services.
Sewer work at the Main/Union intersection is complete. Surface restoration and paving are complete.
Water main replacement and temporary water main work will continue through May.
Excavation of the roadway subbase along Main St. between Pine and St. Paul is scheduled to begin Wednesday, 5/7.

CHAMPLAIN PARKWAY TRAFFIC HIGHLIGHTS:
Main/Pine Intersection:
Closed 24/7 to vehicles. Parkway contractor (ECI) to take over work from the Main Street contractor (SDI) mid-week.
King/Pine Intersection:
Lane reductions and alternating one-way traffic at the intersection.
Pine St: Main St to King St:
Lane shifts and pedestrian detours will be in effect. Restricted to local vehicle traffic only. Block accessible via King St only.

Where is Construction Occuring?
Main/Pine intersection:
Closed 24/7 to vehicles. Bike/Ped access will be maintained for at least 3 legs of the intersection. Parkway contractor (ECI) to take over work from the Main Street contractor (SDI) mid-week.
Main St:
Church St intersection to S. Winooski Ave is fully closed
to vehicle traffic.
Main/S. Winooski intersection:
Open to North/South/East vehicle traffic.
Main/S. Union intersection:
Fully reopened to traffic flow today.
