Main Street Project Update, May 30, 2025

Construction Update
Water main work will continue for a few more weeks along Main St. between S. Winooski and Church.
Roadway subbase and base course paving has been completed along Main St from Pine to St. Paul and St. Paul to the Church/Main intersection.
Curb work will continue along Main St. between Pine and Church. Work will be done only one block at a time.
Excavation for tree cell test pits, light pole foundations, and concrete sidewalk continues along Main St.

Where is Construction Occurring?
Traffic patterns for next week, 6/2-6/6:
- Main/S. Winooski: North/South/East legs open to
vehicle traffic. - Main: S. Winooski to Church: Fully closed to vehicles.
- Main/Church: Fully closed to vehicles.
- Main: Church to St. Paul: Open to local traffic. Full vehicle closure expected mid-week for approximately two days.
- Main/St. Paul: Open to vehicle traffic.
- Main: St. Paul to Pine: Open to local traffic.
- Main/Pine: Fully closed to vehicles.
Timeframes for closures are subject to change. Updates will be provided as frequently as possible.

Available Lots/Garages:
FREE 2 Hours at the Downtown Garage Monday – Saturday
FREE parking at meters & City garages on Sundays
Courthouse Plaza Garage, S. Winooski Ave entrance, city rates ($2.00/hr)
Main/Winooski lot (access via S Winooski) open
Main/Winooski lot (access via Main St) open
On street parking is available except where a meter bag or
‘No Parking’ sign is present.

CHAMPLAIN PARKWAY TRAFFIC HIGHLIGHTS:
Monday, 6/2 through Friday, 6/6:
Main/Pine Intersection: Will remain closed to vehicles(24/7).
Pine: Main to King: Will remain open to local traffic only and be accessible via King Street.
Pine: King to Maple: Lane reductions with alternating one-way traffic, parking restrictions, and short temporary driveway disruptions.
Howard/Pine Intersection: Potential for lane reductions with alternating one-way traffic.
Please note, pedestrian travel ways within the project limits will remain gravel; use caution.
