Main Street Project Updates September 6, 2024

Construction Update

Sewer work along Church Street into the intersection of Church and Main will continue.

Temporary waterline work within the St. Paul and Main Street intersection is scheduled for completion next week. Once that work has been completed, temporary waterline work will begin at the Pine and Main Street intersection.

Please see the parking and traffic sections below for more information on impacts.

See below in the  Nearby Project section for information about upcoming work in the intersection of College and Church.

Traffic Update

The Main and St. Paul intersection will remain closed until Tuesday, 9/10. Once this intersection has reopened, the Pine and Main Street intersection will be closed for a limited duration.

The Main and Church intersection is closed.

Church Street from King to Main Street remains closed.

Work to ensure fire access along Main Street between Church St. and South Winooski will consist of removing parking meters, bike racks, lights, and other furnishings from the north side of the road. An eight foot widening of the sidewalk will allow for a fire lane, and limited/flagger controlled delivery lane for businesses. Preparations for this lane are anticipated to start next week.

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained around work zones. Follow designated pedestrian signage.

See the map below for construction work locations and detours.
